New PSG Episode: Flax and Hemp
Share

There's a brand-new episode available for PSG members – Flax and Hemp! Under the kind and knowledgeable tutelage of Patsy Zawistoski, you'll see these classic plant fibers in a whole new light. If flax or help have ever seemed intimidating, Patsy's calm and thorough instruction will make them feel friendly and inviting.
Whether you spin wet or dry, she'll guide you through dressing several types of distaffs (cone, basket, ponytail, apron) and demonstrate how to spin, ply, skein, scour, and beetle your yarns. Patsy also shares an inspiring array of woven and crocheted finished pieces to spark your creativity.
We're also thrilled to welcome Amelia Garripoli for her PSG debut! She takes us on an exploratory spindle journey, encouraging playful experimentation with new fibers and tools – showing us what inspires her process along the way.
It's a wonderful two hours of spinning instruction and inspiration!
Patsy is a frequent guest at the PSG spin-ins, and Amelia will be joining our guild spin-in for Q&A sessions on Sunday, November 16th at 10am Pacific. She’ll be on hand to chat about spindles, plant fibers, and more! If you’re a member of the guild, the spin-in link is in your email and in the guild forums.
If you’re not a member yet, now is the perfect time! We’re halfway though the Worsted season but we still have socks, silks, consistency, coils, bouclé, and lots more to come. We’d love to have you at one (or more) of our three monthly spin-ins and to have you be a part of our fiber-loving community. The PSG is $85/year or $12/month; there’s a free 3-day trial and a scholarship fund if you want to be a part but just can’t swing it. We never want money to be a barrier. Information is here.
