PURL News and Update

The PURL team is thrilled to share that we're on track and full steam ahead!

From our experience with PLY and WEFT, we've learned that two months just isn't enough time to produce high-quality work without turning our contributors' lives upside down. And since we're all about helping artists and writers build sustainable creative lives, we use extended timelines to give everyone the space they need to do their best work.

It's why our first issue won't be out until August – but once it's out, you (our readers) won't notice the long lead times we give our contributors (but they will). What you will notice is the care, creativity, and depth that extra time brings.

Right now, the articles and projects for our debut issue (fittingly titled Cast-On) are being written, designed, and knitted – and they're absolutely stunning. The lineup includes a mix of first-time contributors, well-known knitters, and a few downright famous names.

Our second issue is already in motion too, with equally inspiring work underway. After that, things settle into our regular publishing rhythm – and that means it's time to start planning Issue 3! We'd love to have your voice in that issue! We're taking proposals right now.
